Oh, Ben. How awful and incredibly sad! Your tribute brought back fond memories of those days in Howell Hall. Dulcie was indeed a very special person, full of life and grace. Hugs to you!! (As an aside, I carried the keychain you brought me from OU for many years. It was a nice reminder of my home state.)

Hey Holly--glad you liked the post! Those were really good days, weren't they? I am in Dunn cleaning out my mother's house to put it up for ale, after 5 years--but expect to be ordered back to Florida soon, if Margaret's mother gets any worse--turns 102 on Sunday, but slipping into dementia after a year in bed from a broken hip--poor Rita! Sharp as a tack until that fall...Hugs back, Ben

What a beautiful tribute. I feel like I know her. You're such a natural storyteller!

Kate, you are too kind--she was so easy to recall, even under sad circumstances.

That was incredibly touching. Thank you. I've learned from listening to James Golden to understand that individuals passing from this life are simply having their second BIRTH day -- when they are/he, she or it is -- born back into heaven. (James Golden is now part of WABC 77 Talk Radio doing two shows, each of which contains contemporary reports of individuals' -- most often musicians' -- birthdays. He was for 30 or so years Rush Limbaugh's right hand person, and up to almost the end known as Bo Snerdley. Personally I think his (Golden's) middle name should be Radio but personally I think of him as James, Golden. He, too, is walking the dark path now becoming more familiar to us all.)

Thanks, Rede! I had never thought of it that way--a second birthday that only those who knew you get to celebrate! Remembering day...
